Art Doll Making with Melanie McCall - Postponed
Join our artist-in-residence, Melanie McCall in a doll-making process that explores innovative use of mixed media materials and deep and playful character development. Melanie will guide participants through the process of conceptualizing, designing, constructing, and embellishing a figure that embodies the characteristics of a personalized talisman. Created with the qualities we wish to embody ourselves; strength and confidence; being a superhero; ease and gentleness.

Instructor bio: Melanie graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a BFA in Textiles. She furthered her education at Dalhousie University in Historical Costume Design. Her 20 year artistic practice draws most heavily from the natural world, and stems from her affinity for ecologies for organic elements of design. Her work crosses forms from costume, surface design and manipulation, puppetry, hand drawing, installation and painting.
