OPEN STUDIO
The studio is open to previous workshop participants and/or those with equivalent experience with studio tools and equipment. Open studio time is the perfect opportunity to practice skills, commune with fellow artists, and solicit feedback and inspiration. It allows shared access to the printing table, sewing machines, screen printing equipment (screens and squeegees, sinks, and dark room), and various sewing construction tools at a rate of $25/hr. Participants may purchase inks for use and/or are encouraged to bring their own water-based inks.

Additional charges for inks, screen coating, films, and print jobs:
Water-based non-toxic inks - $25 per 500mL, $35 per 750mL
Emulsion coating and removal - $20 per screen
Film printing - $15 per design (up to 12”x18”)
Screens, 20”x24” (printable area 12”x18”) - $70 for a used frame and fresh mesh
Labour, design support, private lessons - $45 per hour
SEWING EQUIPMENT
Madderhouse is outfitted with an industrial Singer 20U series machine, two domestic Pfaff machines (one regular and one serger), and a selection of sewing tools and materials such as machine accessories, pins, snips, rulers, cutting mats and rotary cutters, irons, and ironing hams. These are for in-studio use and are available for rent by appointment. The first hour of rental is a required orientation and safety session with a technician. As mentioned above rental is $25/hr/person (maximum 8hr session).
